Lambda Theta Phi emerged onto the scene at LeMoyne College under less than ideal conditions. Nevertheless, on February
16th 1997 a dream was realized at the small Syracuse institution, which has traditionally not (and still does not)
recognized Greek-lettered organizations. The Founding Brothers, Chey Rodriguez and David Munoz, had established the
Alpha Mu chapter and laid the foundation for the development of a New York Sector! The two were the first Greeks
on campus, thereby paving the way for an influx of other Greek-lettered organizations and setting yet another precedent.
Alpha Mu chapter's history reveals deep ties with Fraternal entities in Connecticut and New Jersey. This would be key in
strengthening the ties between New York chapters and their neighbors. New York's role as a bridge between distant Sectors
had been redefined.
In the fall of 1997, the chapter saw the induction of its Beta Line. With the addition of five brothers, Alpha Mu then
experienced a golden era. However, shortly around the turn of the century things started to change. In the spring of 2005,
Brother Eric Perez was credited with the revival of Alpha Mu. Today, the chapter continues to carry on the proud legacy
and vision of Lambda Theta Phi through its tireless pursuit of excellence.
