Alpha Rho Chapter began at Drexel University with three men, Aaron Sarapadon, Roberto De Jesus, and Ariel Azcuidiaz, in the spring 1998. At the end of the semester, the three men parted ways by way of graduation and other circumstances, thus leaving the chapter defunct. After six years of defunct status, the chapter became a Philadelphia Metropolitan chapter with the addition of Juan Ruiz from LaSalle University in the summer of 2004.
Unfortunately, he became an alumnus that same semester, but his service to the fraternity continued. He worked with the Sector Board to revive the chapter at a school with promise: Temple University. After a difficult year of laboring, in the summer of 2005, New Jersey Sector 2 had crossed Alpha Rho chapter's Gamma line: Jose Grajales and Miguel De Jesus. Jose Grajales had immediately become an alumnus leaving Miguel De Jesus as the only undergraduate brother in the state of Pennsylvania.
Miguel then began to seek recognition at Temple University. In the Fall of 2005, Delta line emerged to include Edwin DePasquale and Andrew Porter. For the first time since the founding line there were three (3) undergraduate brothers on a Philadelphia campus. In Spring of 2006, the chapter accomplished what they thought was impossible. They crossed Ricardo Medina as Epsilon line (their third consecutive induction line), received recognition through the Office of Student Activites, and submitted all materials to seek recognition by the Greek association.
On November 1, 2006, Alpha Rho chapter had officially become a member of Temple University's Greek Association, making Lambda Theta Phi the first Latin Fraternity recognized at the university thus securing its place in the state of Pennsylvania. These brother continued to fulfill the purpose of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. in aspects of their respective lives. By doing so, the student government president, Juan Galeano became the Alpha Rho chapter's Zeta line.
From this point the chapter continued to move foward in the City of Brotherly Love.
