"I was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala. My family and I moved to Maryland in 1986. I am the youngest of three children. I decided to move to Tallahassee and attend FSU because my older brother lived in town and schools in the Mid-Atlantic area were too expensive. My parents could not afford to send me to college, so I work at Outback Steakhouse to support my studies. I graduated in the Fall of 2002 with a BA in International Affairs.
I decided to join Lambda Theta Phi because of it's commitment to the community. There were no other organizations on campus that provided support to the Latino community in Tallahassee and surrounding areas. All the Brothers held leadership positions on campus and were strong proponents of giving a voice to the population at FSU. Joining this Latino Movement of young professional males is one of the best decisions that I have made.
I currently reside in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, D.C. I work for a non-profit organization focusing on Latino youth and their families. We empower Latino youth to reach their full potential. I am the Volunteer and Internship Coordinator for Identity, Inc.
I have also remained active in the Latino movement serving as Florida Sector Two Academic and Collegiate Affairs Officer 2004-2005 and most recently as Mid-Atlantic Expansion Officer for 2006-2007. I have helped in the establishment of the Towson University Colony and the UNC Charlotte Colony, with more to come."
