Lambda Theta Phi is a non-profit service/social fraternity which emphasizes Latino unity and the celebration of the Latino

culture. With its acceptance into the National Inter-fraternity Conference (NIC) in 1992, Lambda Theta Phi became the first nationally

recognized Latino Greek letter fraternity in the country.

The fraternity’s goals are to promote scholarship, Latino unity, respect for all cultures, and brotherhood. Lambda Theta Phi

has set out to accomplish these goals through responsible political and social action. By working in the surrounding communities, the

fraternity hopes to provide both services and positive role models, as well as enhance the image of the Latino culture. Lambda Theta

Phi has been involved in numerous voter and citizenship registration drives, has hosted Hispanic college days (introducing thousands

of high school students to college), anti-drug rallies, brought noted speakers to college campuses, marched in parades, and organized

various cultural, educational and social events. The fraternity has received commendations from the American Red Cross for its

fundraising efforts on behalf of the victims of the Mexican earthquakes, the Puerto Rican mudslides, the Colombian volcanic eruptions,

Florida’s hurricanes, and the United States’ homeless.

The brotherhood includes men of diverse backgrounds and descents working together to realize the organization’s goals.

Brothers of Lambda Theta Phi have gone on to become attorneys, scientists, accountants, architects, engineers, entrepreneurs, politicians,

and leaders in other fields. Brothers of Lambda Theta Phi have had the distinction of holding positions such as President of the

New Jersey Hispanic Bar Association, Executive Director of ASPIRA Inc. of New Jersey, National Director of the Cuban Voter’s

League, Executive Director of the Democratic Party for South Florida, State Senator, and U.S. Congressman.

Lambda Theta Phi prides itself in the strength of its brotherhood. It provides a support group to help ensure that all brothers

achieve their greatest potential. The fraternity believes in power through education. With the creation of the Educational Foundation,

the fraternity has given numerous scholarships to students and has funded educational workshops and conferences. We believe that

united there is nothing we can not accomplish. “En La Union Esta La Fuerza” (In Unity There is Strength).
