On February 24, 1991 seven men founded the ninth chapter of the Lambda Theta Phi. These founders were part of the spring 1991 National Pledge Line. There was concern over the reality that within months the membership of the newly founded chapter would dwindle to four brothers. Nevertheless, all seven possessed and had demonstrated the characteristics of the typical Lambda- perseverance, leadership and commitment. In the Spring semester of 1992, the brothers recruited their first pledge line. All seven men recruited were initiated as brothers. In less then one year the membership had tripled. Approximately on year after its founding, Iota Chapter was chartered. On May 5, 1992, in the Cavalla Room at Rider University a chartering ceremony was held. The brothers were presented with a charter recognizing the Iota Chapter of Lambda Theta Phi as a Greek-letter organization on campus.
