On September 27, 1990 at 8pm, in Stone Hall's second floor lounge, there was an interest group meeting held. The topic of discussion was Lambda Theta Phi.  Among the attendants were six freshmen, one sophomore, and one junior.  Also present, were Brothers from the Chapter at that time closest to this school, Eta Chapter at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  The Eta Chapter Brothers were there to inform the group of men about the brotherhood of brown and white.

In the Spring of 1991 these eight men would go on to found the Fraternity's Tenth Chapter which was established on February 24, 1991.  Also founded that day were Iota (Rider University) and Lambda (University of Connecticut) Chapters.

The Founding Brothers of Kappa established a chapter with a strong foundation that continues to grow after 20 years of existence.  Kappa has grown into one of the strongest chapters throughout the brotherhood and it continues to work hard to serve their campus and their community.  One of the principles that make our Fraternity known nationally is leadership, and nowhere is this more evident than in Kappa Chapter's role in the campus community.  The Brothers of Kappa Chapter have held dozens of leadership positions on campus, making the Fraternity one of the most highly regarded and admired organizations.  Through hard work and dedication, Lambda Theta Phi, Latin Fraternity Inc., Kappa Chapter, has not only earned the respect of students, but of administration as well.

Some of the positions held by our Brothers include:

·       Student Government President

·       Student Government Vice President

·       President of Latin American Organization

·       Vice President of SGA Scholarship Fund

·       Editor-in-Chief of the Yearbook

·       Greek Council Vice President

·       Board of Trustees

·       SGA Legislators

·       SGA Chief of Staff

·       SGA Director of Services

·       United Greek Coallition President

·       United Greek Coallition Vice President

The Brothers are not only acknowledged for the leadership roles, but they are also  known for bringing the campus community events such as, parties, movie nights, socials, workshops, and many other events.

Our commitment is not only to our campus but to our communities as well.  With this in mind, the Brothers at Kappa Chapter make it their priority to always give back to their communities.  The Brothers have taken part in hundreds of community services such as food drives, feed the homeless, The Salvation Army Angel Program, school workshops and orientations to name a few.

One of the tightest and oldest chapters around, Kappa Chapter still holds it down and has one of the strongest foundations around.
