TAU CHAPTER WAS ESTABLISHED NOVEMBER 6th, 1994 @ CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY  by three gentlemen, LUIS RODRIGUEZ, NOEL CASSIANO, and FERNANDO MEDINA.

 Lambda Theta Phi provides the Latino college student the opportunity to be part of a family with a mission. What is this mission? To cultivate a spirit of brotherhood, to value an education, to promote unity among all Latinos, to be proud of and cherish our heritage, to assert roles of leadership, to develop character, to practice chivalry, and to serve mankind. In short, to raise the social and cultural conscience of the Latin male college student.

LAMBDA THETA PHI TIMELINE
1975 - Where it all began. December 1, Lambda Theta Phi, Latin Fraternity, Inc. is founded
1976 - Brothers of Lambda Theta Phi also become known as the "Lambdas".
1978 - Fraternity Shield completed with the assistance of Fraternal Father Dr. Cayetano Soccarras and Honorary Brother Raymond Lago.
1979 - Lambda Theta Phi helps form the Coalition of Latino Student Organizations to protest a lack of services to Latino students at Kean College (now Kean University); it is the first mention of a "Latino Fraternity" in any print media in the U.S.
1980 - Fraternity shield is revised by Honorary Brother Raymond Lago.
1984 - Fraternity adopts "Latinos en Los Estados Unidos" by Willie Colon and Celia Cruz as its official song as proposed by the Founding Line of Epsilon Chapter.
1984 - Fraternity shield is revised into the current image by Epsilon brother Daniel Sedares under the guidance of Fraternal Father Dr. Cayetano Socarras.
1986 - "Ahora", a Spanish-Language newspaper out of Union City, NJ publishes a 2 1/2 page article on the fraternity, the first story ever printed about a Latino Greek Letter Organization.
1990 - A delegation of Lambdas, lead by Founding Father Agustin Garcia, represents the fraternity at the International Cuban Youth Conference, "Free Cuba" (translated from Spanish), in Miami, FL; the fraternity was the only non-Cuban (specific) organization to participate and make a presentation at the event.
1991 - Lambda Chapter, the FIRST chapter outside of New Jersey is founded at the University of Connecticut.
1992 - Lambda Theta Phi is publicly thanked for their support during the acceptance speech of brother Robert Mendez during his victory speech after being elected into Congress
1992 - Lambda Theta Phi is the first Latin fraternity to become members of the North American Interfraternity Conference.
1994 - January 24, passing of Fraternal Father Dr. Cayetano Socarras, affectionately known as Chacho to those brothers who have had the privilege of meeting him.
1994 - "The history of Lambda Theta Phi", written by Beta brother Jesus Pena, is published, making Lambda Theta Phi the first Latino Greek Lettered Organization to have a published history book.
1994 NOVEMBER 6th 1994, TAU CHAPTER IS FOUNDED AT CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY.
1995 - The fraternity posts its first website www.Lambda1975.org, built and designed by bothers Juan Aguilar and Carlos Morales.
1995 UPSILON CHAPTER IS FOUNDED at UNIVERSITY of HARTFORD
1995 PSI CHAPTER IS FOUNDED at TRINITY COLLEGE IN HARTFORD
1996 - Lambda Theta Phi Sponsors a contingent of brothers to participate in "'96 Sera" a march on Washington, DC to protest a wave of anti-immigrant legislation.
1996 TAU CHAPTER CCSU becomes the national CHAPTER OF THE YEAR!
1998 - The fraternity establishes the Lambda Theta Phi Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) entity chaired by Founding Father Agustin Garcia.
1999 JUAN MENDOZA of TAU CHAPTER (CCSU) wins the NATIONAL ACADEMIC BROTHER OF THE YEAR.
2001 - Lambda Theta Phi receives Community Service Award at the Annual LatinoGreeks.com & NALFO Awards Gala.
2003 - Lambda Theta Phi becomes members of the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO).
2003 - Lambda Theta Phi holds national press conferences in Washington, D.C. and organizes students and alumni across the contry to protest a media merger that they believed would create a monopoly of Spanish-language media.
2005 - Lambda Theta Phi becomes the first Latin Fraternity to award a "Latina Scholarship" at its 30th National Awards Banquet.
2006 Proclamation by US senate and Senator BOB MELENDEZ (proud brother of LAMBDA THETA PHI)
2007 August 2007 Lambda Theta Phi gathers to raise money for those affected by the massive Aug. 15 earthquake near Lima, Peru. was designed to attract as many as 200 people, with a goal of raising $10,000. <2007>Nations First National Latin Fraternity Celebrates 32nd Anniversary
Lambda Theta Phi, the country’s first national Latin fraternity celebrated its 32nd anniversary during the National Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
On Saturday, December 1, 2007, there will be countless ceremonies, dinner and dances throughout the country commemorating the founding date of Lambda Theta Phi. The organization’s National Board of Directors, regional officers, alumni and undergraduate members, representing various professions and academic pursuits, along with family and friends will be present to both celebrate and reflect on the many accomplishments of Lambda Theta Phi, Latin Fraternity.
