Alpha Upsilon plans New Mexico Youth Leadership Symposium

LAMBDA THETA PHI LATIN FRATERNITY, INC. – ALPHA UPSILON CHAPTER TO HOST INAUGURAL NEW MEXICO YOUTH LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Gentlemen of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. Alpha Upsilon Chapter at The University of New Mexico will host the New Mexico Youth Leadership Symposium on UNM’s Main Campus on April 17, 2009. This one-day intensive leadership experience will give local high school students the opportunity to gain skills and information necessary for successful matriculation into an institution of higher education. Using resources from the university and Albuquerque community, the fraternity has put together an exciting program that will feature presentations ranging from how to dress for success, to how to be an effective leader. The Brothers of Alpha Upsilon Chapter will also host a presentation regarding the

use of community service opportunities as a means of gaining leadership skills and roles in the community while simultaneously enriching it.

Any Albuquerque Public Schools junior is eligible for the program, though sophomores and seniors will also be considered. More information is available at http://www.nmyls.org. This program will ensure that high school students that attend will leave with the information and skills necessary to become successful college students.

Lambda Week @ UNM (10-29 to 11-3)

Alpha Upsilon chapter at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque is hosting it's annual Lambda Week (October 29-November 3). An event will occur each day of the week with everything from service to educational events. The week will culminate on Friday with "Salsa in the SUB," a philanthropic event to raise money for victims of the California fires.
